Say hello to Julie Cranny, Acumen‘s newest recruit! Julie is an expert in all things Financial Planning and we’re thrilled to welcome her to our talented and rapidly expanding team. We’re sure that she will be bring a huge amount of extra value to us and to you. Read on to find out more about all of Julie’s skills and interests.

 

Julie Cranny, Acumen Financial Services, Paraplanner

Julie has worked in the Financial Services Industry for more than 15 years, beginning as a Personal Assistant. Five years later, she progressed to become a Financial Planning Administrator, specialising in pensions, investments and protection insurance. To help her in that new role she undertook the Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Planning, which she completed in November 2009.

In November 2014, Julie became a Paraplanner. Paraplanners essentially work with a financial planner or financial adviser and complete a number of the non-client facing tasks involved in preparing and administering a financial plan or report for a client. She continued to gain a great deal of hands-on knowledge and experience, while continuing with her exams to gain a Diploma in Financial Planning in May 2014.

Julie said: “Wishing to progress further in my career and gain more experience, I was fortunate enough to be offered a position with Acumen, which will enable me to take the next step. I will be working as a Paraplanner assisting the Advisers to produce the relevant research, recommendations and reports for our clients.

Julie’s strengths revolve around excellent report writing skills and a good technical knowledge of financial products, specialising in Pension advice & planning. In her spare time she is learning to play the piano and sings in a gospel choir. She also enjoys gardening, reading, going to the gym and spending time with family and friends.
