I have worked in Financial Services since graduating in 1981, initially for two major insurance companies but despite being offered a number of exciting management opportunities, my aim was always to work directly with clients. I took the first step towards this by heading up a financial services venture for a firm of solicitors followed by a partnership with an independent financial adviser. I then joined David Roberts and Partners, one of the leading Insurance Brokers in the North West and spent a number of years working with them as a consultant.

I had nurtured the idea for a firm which would genuinely enhance the financial wellbeing and life experience of its clients long before establishing Acumen Financial Partnership Ltd in 2006. I set out to provide a service based on a genuine determination to give the best possible advice in clear, plain English, offer real value for money and maintain an open door policy with access to a team of highly trained committed and caring advisers.

There is a very high level of trust placed in a financial planner and the service we provide has parallels to the family doctor of old. We are a listening ear and a practical guide, acting decisively when it is right to do so and bringing you the reassurance that you are in good hands. We will call in the right specialists when needed and keep in regular contact with our clients to make sure that your financial plans are kept on track as the months and years go by. We respect our clients and bring what we think of as traditional “family values” to the work we do.

I specialise in individually tailored investment strategies, pension and retirement planning for clients who want to maximise what their wealth can achieve for themselves and their families. I work closely with owner managed businesses and professionals as well as private individuals and their families who want to protect and preserve hard earned wealth for future generations. We aim to help you get the best out of your money and the best out of your life.

I live in Rufford, West Lancashire with my husband Simon and we have two sons, Andrew who has his own business and now lives in Liverpool and Daniel who is a Chartered Financial Planner with Acumen and lives in Southport with his fiancée and baby son. Simon and I have two horses and two dogs and we are keen horse riders and walkers. I also enjoy music and theatre, as well as cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
