I graduated in 1981 and went to work for Assicurazioni General, a large Italian insurance company, in Johannesburg, where I stayed for three years.
On returning to the UK, I worked for Standard Life before deciding I preferred to work directly with clients. I then set up Wyre Investments in 1995.
I have a wide range of clients, from multinational businesses to private individuals looking for help in running their finances, many of whom have been with me since the business was initially set up. I have really enjoyed fostering relationships with clients over a long period of time which has been one of the most rewarding parts of building the business.
I firmly believe that everyone should understand how financial products work and be comfortable with what they are investing in.
I volunteer at Citizens Advice on a monthly basis, which definitely gives another set of challenges! I am married with two daughters. I love to travel and I now play golf (of sorts).
