Acumen supports local football teams

Acumen is proud to play a part in the development of local junior football by supporting Southport FC U7s and Waterloo Vipers U11s with vital kit sponsorship.

Underlining our commitment to support the local community, Acumen has set its sights on helping local youngsters to achieve their footballing goals.

Supporting the community

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, we have contributed funding for Southport FC’s U7’s team with a donation towards training kit and essential new equipment, including balls, cones and goals.

The Port’s Juniors also join Waterloo Vipers U11s in receiving shirt sponsorship from Acumen. The Sandgrounders youngsters, who are managed by Latvian ex-professional Ivan Vysocky, are playing their first season in the Craven League and, with their finances in the safe hands of a leading firm of IFAs, their future looks bright.

Acumen Financial Director, Jon Landy, and IFA, Celia Evans, both have a vested interest in the success of these local junior teams. As Jon’s son, Freddie, lines up for Southport FC U7s and Celia’s son, James, plays for Waterloo Vipers.

Jon said: “Acumen Financial is delighted to sponsor Southport FC’s U7s team. It’s about giving the kids the equipment to go out and enjoy their football and we hope our support can spur them on to success.”

Celia said: “It’s a real pleasure to be able to support Waterloo Vipers with kit sponsorship. As parents, we know just how much it costs for kids to access sport. So we hope our cash injection can make a real difference.”

Playing in Acumen sponsored kit has already spurred on Southport FC’s U7s, as they romped home 8-1 winners against Redgate Rovers – in their first ever match – and 13-1 in their follow up fixture. While Waterloo Vipers currently sit fourth in the U11s Premier League.
